The Women’s Ally Coalition

Black Women for
No Black Man Left Behind™

WE STAND WITH BLACK MEN WHO CHOOSE HEALTH.™

Stronger Men. Healthier Families. Brighter Futures.™

Black Women for No Black Man Left Behind™ is the women’s ally coalition of No Black Man Left Behind™—bringing together influential Black women who believe that the health, lives, longevity, and futures of Black men matter.

We stand with Black men as they organize to become more active participants in their health and move toward greater Health Sovereignty™.

We are not here to save Black men. We are here to stand with Black men who are choosing health.

Black men are organizing themselves around their health.
Black women are standing with them.

01

WHY BLACK WOMEN?

Black men do not live in isolation.

They are sons. Fathers. Husbands. Partners. Brothers. Friends. Colleagues. Leaders. Mentors. Community members.

And throughout their lives, Black women are often among the people who love them, influence them, encourage them, challenge them, advocate for them, and want them here for generations to come.

Black Women for No Black Man Left Behind™ creates an organized way for that support to become collective influence and action.

We are bringing together women who can use their voices, leadership, relationships, professional networks, resources, and influence to help create stronger conditions for Black men to participate in their health.

Because the health of Black men matters.

Their longevity matters.

Their presence matters.

Their future matters.

02

OUR ROLE

Black Women for No Black Man Left Behind™ is an ally coalition.

That distinction matters.

Our role is not to assume responsibility for Black men’s health.

Our role is to support a movement in which Black men are taking greater responsibility for their own health.

The principle is simple:

BLACK MEN ARE ORGANIZING THEMSELVES AROUND THEIR HEALTH.

BLACK WOMEN ARE STANDING WITH THEM.

Black male agency remains at the center.

Black women become powerful allies in helping the movement grow.

03

FIVE WAYS WE ACT

ADVOCATE

Champion the importance of Black men’s health, longevity, prevention, participation, and well-being.

Use your voice to communicate a simple message:

Black men’s health matters.

AMPLIFY

Help expand the reach of No Black Man Left Behind™ through media, social platforms, churches, businesses, professional organizations, community networks, and personal relationships.

Help more people hear the message.

Help more Black men discover the movement.

CONNECT

Open relationships and create introductions.

Connect No Black Man Left Behind™ with healthcare organizations, corporations, foundations, universities, community institutions, media organizations, philanthropists, sponsors, and strategic partners.

Sometimes one introduction can change the trajectory of a mission.

MOBILIZE

Encourage Black men, families, organizations, and communities to participate.

Help bring men into No Black Man Left Behind™ events, community initiatives, Health Sports™, Challenges, and other opportunities for meaningful health participation.

We don’t merely want people to hear the message.

We want men participating.

RESOURCE

Help bring resources to the mission.

That may include funding, expertise, partnerships, facilities, technology, professional services, media opportunities, sponsorships, or access to people and institutions capable of helping the movement grow.

04

WE STAND WITH THEM. WE CANNOT PARTICIPATE FOR THEM.

This is one of the most important principles of Black Women for No Black Man Left Behind™.

A woman can encourage a man.

She can love him.

She can advocate for him.

She can invite him.

She can connect him to resources.

She can stand beside him.

But she cannot participate in his health for him.

That decision ultimately belongs to the man.

No Black Man Left Behind™ exists to help Black men develop greater agency, participation, knowledge, responsibility, brotherhood, and accountability in relationship to their health.

Our coalition exists to stand with them as they do.

05

PERSONAL OWNERSHIP + COLLECTIVE ACCOUNTABILITY

No Black Man Left Behind™ rejects the false choice between personal responsibility and community support.

We believe both matter.

PERSONAL OWNERSHIP

My health matters.

I participate in my health.

I learn what is happening in my body.

I train behaviors that influence my health.

I measure meaningful indicators.

I seek appropriate professional healthcare when needed.

I take responsibility for what is within my control.

COLLECTIVE ACCOUNTABILITY

Your health matters to us too.

We encourage one another.

We check on one another.

We train together.

We connect one another to resources.

We celebrate progress.

We refuse to normalize Health Isolation™.

Health Sovereignty™ does not mean health alone.

06

WHAT WE ARE STANDING FOR

We envision a future in which more Black men can say:

I participate in my health.

I understand more about what is happening in my body.

I train behaviors that support my health.

I measure my progress.

I seek appropriate healthcare.

I have brothers who hold me accountable.

I am becoming a Health Athlete™.

I am taking greater ownership of my health future.

Black Women for No Black Man Left Behind™ stands behind that future.

07

OUR COMMITMENT

WE BELIEVE BLACK MEN’S LIVES MATTER.

WE BELIEVE BLACK MEN’S HEALTH MATTERS.

WE BELIEVE BLACK MEN’S FUTURES MATTER.

We will stand with them.

We will advocate for them.

We will encourage them.

We will amplify the mission.

We will connect people and opportunities.

We will help open doors.

We will mobilize communities.

We will help bring resources to the mission.

BUT WE WILL NOT PARTICIPATE FOR THEM.

We stand with Black men who choose to participate in creating stronger, healthier, longer futures.

08

BECOME A FOUNDING MEMBER

Applications are now open for the inaugural group of Founding Members of Black Women for No Black Man Left Behind™.

We are seeking a select group of Black women who believe that the health, lives, longevity, and futures of Black men matter—and who are prepared to activate their voices, relationships, leadership, resources, professional networks, and influence in support of the mission.

We aren't simply looking for women who support the mission.

We're looking for women prepared to help advance it.

Founding Members may contribute through one or more of our five areas of action:

ADVOCATE.

AMPLIFY.

CONNECT.

MOBILIZE.

RESOURCE.

You do not need to be famous.

You do need to care.

You need to believe Black men's health matters.

And you need to be willing to do something with your influence.

Founding membership is selective. Submission of an application does not guarantee appointment to the coalition.

09

STRONGER MEN. HEALTHIER FAMILIES. BRIGHTER FUTURES.™

When Black men live healthier and longer, the impact extends beyond individual men.

Fathers have greater opportunities to remain present.

Families have greater opportunities to remain connected.

Children have greater opportunities to know their fathers and grandfathers.

Communities retain mentors, leaders, entrepreneurs, teachers, coaches, creators, and elders.

This is why standing for Black men’s health is not only about Black men.

It is an investment in generations.
